Hi Forum, I have a B226 CD Player that I bought around 14 years ago; was working perfectly up until I decided to replace decayed rubber rings around the wheels of the loading tray mechanism as the noise and action bothered me. Since the ring replacement then I have been unable to get the player to recognise a disc- it will load and the CDM-1 will go into action and the disc will spin but stops and the display acknowledges that a disc is inserted. I've tried adjusting the spindle height but this has no effect. The player has sat idle for a couple of years but I decided to look at the problem again.
The tray has never really sat properly within the machine since I bought it- There has always been a bigger gap to the right and also underneath. Disassembly has made this problem more pronounced. Can anyone here give me some guidance as to possible mechanical adjustment can be made to the tray and anything I should look out for?
Also whilst completely dissembling the player to inspect the tray mechanism I noticed one of the E-clips on the roller wheels is missing. can anyone tell me what size clip I need, both shaft diameter and clip size? (my measuring calipers are not particularly accurate)
