Din to 6.3 mm jack adaptor question

    Hi to everyone,
I recently acquired a pair of AKG 340 headphones, those are quite difficult to drive as they need a lot of power. So I was thinking about connecting them directly to the speaker output of both my b740 or b750.

I would like to use the A output, and make an adapter from two male din connectors to a female jack.

But this wold mean to connect together the two negatives poles from the amplifier, is it going to make damages?

    Tanks Giovanni

    Hello!

Have you ever tried to connect them to the NORMAL PHONE PLUG?

There should be enough power for 2 phones....

    regards from vienna

PS: I use a 600Ohm Headphone and have no problems at all.

      Hello Giovanni,
      these are electrostatic driven headphones.
Connecting the GND poles on an B750 or A/B740 isn't a problem.
But you are risking to blow the headphones with these amps.
Here is a review and recommended headphone amps.

        Hi,
tanks you both for the answers,
the headphone output of the B740 is powerful enough for regular dynamic headphone, for example the Revox RH310 witch is 600 Ohm and sound great, but I also have a couple of "different" headphones like the AKG 340 witch is an hybrid electrostatic/dynamic or the Bang Olufsen U70 witch is a really inefficient Orthodynamic headphone.
