Hello STUDER experts;
Recently I got an used A721. Its inside was very clean. Later I found that the red key on the right panel was labeled "Power on/off", instead of "Store, as shown in the brochure. Was it normal? Or it had been modified by previous owner? Oddly enough I also spotted pictures with red button labeled "Power on/off" from Google pictures of STUDER A721.
Another problem was that the left channel's recording level seemed to drop with time. I used "align" function to auto-calibrate the bias. When it started recording both channels were brilliant! Then the high frequency on the left channel seemed to level off. The VU meter also registered a lower reproduce level from left channel replay.
I changed all the electrolytic capacitors on the record control circuit board. No improvement. Should I go further to change all electrolytic capacitors on the balanced I/O board? Noise reduction board? Or the stored bias setting drift with time? EEPROM?
