Hi at all, I have the heads Studer 1.116.207 and 1.116.202 new.Are the same of 1.116.027 and 1.116.022 ?
In the top of the head there is 027 and 022 but there isn't the paint red and green.Does anyone know the difference ?

The red one is the Playbackhead and the green one is the Recordhead.

I hope it is right.I look to my B77 .Perhapst somebody from the Revox Forum have more information.

Hi,

1.116.202 = PR99 Record
1.116.207 = PR99 Reproduce

1.116.022 = A67 Record, also A/B77, A700
1.116.027 = A67 Reproduce, also A/B77, A700

They have different specs.

My knowledge is from a Studer Head List, dated 1986.

I don't understand your concerns. The heads 202/022 and 207/027 are for the same usage, but have different technical specs. So you can not replace 202 with 022 or 207 with 027 without changing parts of the circuits. Regardless the colour of the dot on the head. If 022/027 is installed in a PR99, this might be a mistake of one of the pre-owners.

I'll try to explain. I have the heads studer 1.116.202 / 7, but removing the screens, the head is milled 022 - 027, the same code milled on the heads 1.116.022 / 7.
Also, on the service manual of pr99MKIII thre is shown 1.116.022 / 7 ,
the opposite of what you wrote above.

Perhaps the only difference is that is marked Studer instead Revox ?

There are so many "funny" things on earth, and especially in the real Studer/Revox World, that I only rely on official Studer/Revox documents. And this only with a certain healthy scepticism

Hello,

please find attached the selections of heads and their specs posted by ReVox/Studer.

Based on that officialy information provided by factory, the original PR99 heads are of one hole mounting type and the specs are next:

A - the 1.116.202 record head (green mark) is technical compatible with 1.116.022 head and therefore can be considered as direct replacement;

B - the 1.116.207 playback head (red mark) is technical compatible with 1.116.027 head and therefore can be considered as direct replacement;

I will look also on the PR99 Service Manual to see if any other factory replacemt advice.

wir kennen uns ja schon aus der "B250 moving-coil Diskussion".

Dieses Thema hier interessiert mich sehr, da ich auch zwei PR 99 Bandmaschinen habe.

In der Bucht werden dauernd 022/027 Köpfe angeboten, meistens steht da nur "Kopfsatz für A77/B77/PR99", das kennst du bestimmt auch.

Die richtigen Köpfe für die PR 99, du hast es ja anschaulich gemacht hast, suche ich als Reserve-Köpfe auch noch. Unter anderem hat die MK II einen Schmetterlingskopfsatz, da wird es noch schwieriger.

Hast du Vorschläge, oder gibt es nur den teueren Weg über den Revox-Service?
