Auf die Manual sehe ich nicht gut, wieviel Oring auf jede Rolle gibt es? Nur eins oder 2?

Sind beide O Ring gleich?

Wie gross sind sie?

Hier gehören auf jede Rolle 2 O-Ringe. Gibt's direkt bei revox oder auch bei ebay. Einfach nach revox 126 oder 226 suchen.

Hallo Revox-Fans,

ich bin am verzweifeln: Ich krieg die Gummireifen nicht auf die beiden Laufrollen unter der Schublade. Diese hatten sich bei mir in 1000 Teile zersetzt und sind in das Gehäuse gebröselt. Nun läuft der Schlitten direkt auf den weißen Rollen. Die Ersatzreife habe ich mir schon beschafft. Aber wie bekomme ich die da rein ?
Muss man dazu etwa das ganze Gerät zerlegen ?

Hehe , ich habs doch noch hinbekommen. Man muß den Gummiring buchstäblich vom Schlitten überfahren lassen und erst dann den Gummi auf das Rad aufspannen. Den CD-Schlitten kann man dazu einfach mit der Hand langsam ziehen.

Ich hatte stundenlang krampfhaft versucht erst den Gummi aufs Rad zu spannen und dabei einzudrehen... . Geht nicht.
Jetzt läuft das Ding wieder wie auf Samt . Mein Rahmen ist übrigens kerzengerade und macht einen sehr stabilen Eindruck. Kann es sein dass dieser typische B126-Schaden erst durch ein verkanten des Rahmens während des Einzugs entsteht ?

Hej zusammen,

Bin neu auf dem Forum, kann an dieser stelle mal ein grosses Dankeschön aussprechen..... Die Bilder haben mir jetzt schon weitergeholfen.... nun bin ich seelisch auf meine Arbeit vom kommenden Wochenende vorbereitet..... Werde mir dann meinen B226 zur Brust nehmen ;-)

After less than a year after replacing, I discovered that O-rings on my B-226 have gone bad: one snapped and the other is brittle and cracked, close to snapping. This could be due to bad source (eBay) or simply because old parts are ageing.
My advice: do not spend money on original O-rings, use kitchen rubber bands instead. They work like charm.

Elastomers like NBR (standard O-ring material) do not withstand mineral oil or grease long time. Even trace amount cause rubber softeners to dissolve. So all surfaces should be dry and oil free prior mounting. Alternatively you might use "Viton" (FPM) or silicone O-rings. Household rubber could be anything, my first guess would be the cheapest and likely worst material.

No, I did not say anything about "spray", by the way, you didn't either until now. A general "recommendation for rubber" appears pretty arbitrary for any kind of spray. What should be the purpose and benefit of that? Most rubbers will certainly be used without. If the base material of the rubber is already bad, a little spray will do practically nothing. Most likely silicone will badly affect the desirble friction property for applications like belts, rollers etc. Why mess with spray if you can get the right stuff in the first place anyhow?

Sorry for any possible misunderstanding, I was just asking if applying silicone spray could be the reason for rubber decomposition. The silicone spray I used evaporates quickly and leaves thin silicone covered surface. It is recommended for conserving rubber and keeping it flexible and sealing the water from it. I applied it not to the rubber O-rings but along the metal guides of the CD drawer. Obviously, I wanted to achieve smooth sliding.

The silicone spray you used may contain ingredients incompatible with rubber/NBR. Some elastomers are attacked by otherwise "inert" silicone oil/grease because a fraction of the molecules (it´s always a mix, think of oil) is small enough to migrate into the rubber matrix, dissolving the softeners and changing the bond-structure. Result: either too soft (chewing gum) or too hard (10 years old tire). To be on the safe side use FPM or other robust material.
